What GARsDEN Does I am a floral designer, flower grower, and educator whose work is rooted in deep connection to the land and the seasons. I cultivate my own blooms tending each stem from seed to harvest, which allows me to create designs that feel fresh, intentional, and reflective of nature’s rhythms. My floral work blends artistry with sustainability, emphasizing locally grown flowers (as much as possible) and thoughtful design. As an educator , I ‘m passionate about sharing this knowledge with others— teaching the process of arranging and creating floral art, so that people can develop their own confidence and craft when working with live floral materials.

Getting to know Stratham

Farm country between the rivers

Stratham has been farm country since 1716, and it still feels that way: stone walls, hay fields, and family farm stands along Route 33, with Stratham Hill Park rising above it all. Climb the fire tower on top and the whole Seacoast unrolls - Great Bay on one side, the ocean glinting on the other.

My husband grew up here, so I get Stratham narrated by someone who climbed that tower as a kid and still counts the Stratham Fair as a fixed point in the year - one of New Hampshire's classic old-fashioned fairs every July, run the way small towns run things, by neighbors who show up. Between the hill trails, the Great Bay shoreline at Sandy Point, and the September farm stands, this is the Seacoast's easiest dose of countryside, ten minutes off the highway.

Good to know Stratham Hill Park is free with plenty of parking. The Fair (third weekend of July) is the one time all year the town has traffic - embrace it.

Scamman Farm

Farmed by the same family since the 1660s, and part of the scenery of every Stratham childhood - my husband grew up here with this Route 33 landmark as the backdrop of every fall. The pumpkin patch and corn maze are the draw; the sense that the town's farming story is still being written is the reason to care.

New Hampshire SPCA

The region's shelter and humane-education center, finding homes for thousands of animals a year from its Stratham campus. Adopt, foster, or just show up and walk a dog that needs it - which I would argue is one of the best free afternoons available on the Seacoast.
